Patricia Lee Joers (nee Bartelt), age 82 years of Pewaukee, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2021.

Patricia was born on May 13, 1938 in Milwaukee to Hilbert “Bert” and Hildegarde "Hoebe" (nee Huebner) Bartelt.  She was united in marriage to Thomas Ralph “Tom” Joers on October 10, 1959 at St. Mathew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc.

Patricia graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee. Later she earned a certification in Radiology while she worked at Oconomowoc Hospital.  She also enjoyed working in Medical Records with Equifax for many years.  One of her favorite jobs was working at Play It Again, a toy store, while two of her grandchildren were growing up.

“Pat” as she was known to all, was very creative.  She tried and excelled at many hobbies.  She started her own business as the “Teddy Bear Lady,” handcrafting personalized teddy bears.  Her favorite hobby was knitting; Pat loved teaching knitting classes, and selling her felted purses alongside her grandson Jake at craft fairs.   She also enjoyed spending her time sewing, painting and wood crafting, listening to music, and reading mysteries.  In recent years, she loved to take the train to Connecticut to visit her daughter’s family for months at a time.  Many precious memories were made on the annual trip to Cape Cod for her birthday.

Those Pat leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years, Tom; her children, Jeffrey (Patti) Joers of Naples, FL, Gregory (Deborah) Joers of Hartford, WI; and Jody (Paul) Griese of Durham, CT; and three grandchildren, Emily Joers, Jake Joers, and Kate Griese.

Pat’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at New Perspective Senior Living in West Bend and Seasons Hospice of West Allis for the loving care they provided.

Her loved ones are planning A Celebration of Pat’s Life to be held this summer.  Please indicate in the guestbook if you wish to attend.  To sign the online guestbook please visit www.myrhum-patten.com and click on the Tribute Wall link.  Cards addressed to the family may be sent in care of:  Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service, 1315 W Washington Street, West Bend, WI  53095.
