WHSASF HOF Process

The WHS Alumni Hall of Fame was established in 2001 by the Alumni Scholarship Foundation to recognize some of the many outstanding individuals who attended Washington and to acknowledge these individuals as role models for current and future studentsPictures and short descriptions of prior honorees with their accomplishments are mounted on the walls at school illustrating to students that they, too, can make a difference in the world.  An additional plaque with only a mirror encourages students to aspire to their own place on the wall.

Requirements For Election to the Washington High School Hall of Fame

  • A nominee must have graduated from Washington High School (Milwaukee) OR have completed at least two years of attendance at Washington High School and completed their secondary education by achieving a GED (General Educational Development Test). • Someone who is deceased may be nominated.  However, the person submitting the nomination is responsible for providing all required information and staying with the process until it is completed.
  • Current members of the Washington High School Alumni Foundation Board can only be considered for nomination after they have resigned from the board.

After nominations are closed, a committee formed by the Washington High School Alumni Scholarship Foundation Board will review each nomination.  Information provided will be verified.  Missing or additional information may be requested from the nominee, the individual nominating the candidate, or from references. The induction ceremony will be held at Washington High School, unless circumstances prevent it.  Inductees will be able to invite others to attend.
