Robert Ross Slough

April 10, 1950 — June 2, 2009

SLOUGH_Robert Ross Slough, 59, a resident of Jemez Springs for the past seven years, and formerly of Rio Rancho, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Robert was born April 10, 1950 the son of Raymond Robert and Dorothy Peltier Slough in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He had been a self employed carpenter, and took pride in his work. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family. Robert is survived by his son, Ross C. Slough and wife Dolores of Albuquerque; and two grandchildren, Christian Joseph and Victoria Breanne Slough; one brother, and three sisters. A Reception will follow at the Italian American Club in Rio Rancho. In lieu of flowers, it has been suggested that memorial contributions be made to the NM Heart Hospital, or the UNM Children's Hospital. Mary Slough (1967)

Bob died unexpectedly on June 2, 2009 at the log home he built in the Jemez Mountains near Albuquerque, NM. He was a gifted and well-known guitarist, who played with friends at the neighborhood bar and bands in the early days of Summerfest and more well-known musicians like Charlie Pride, Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan.

He was a Little League umpire for about 30 years and loved to fish and was a gifted carpenter.

He is survived by sisters and brother Mary, Sue, Jeff and Jane; and one son, Ross, and two grandchildren. To contact family go to bobsfriends09@yahoo.com.
