Hi Amy,

Of course, I remember you and how smart, pretty, and irreverent you were. I had a crush on you when we were at Washington H.S. eons ago. I just recently (in 2019) received the sweet email you sent me in 2006. I hadn't checked the classmates.com website in decades and was very happy to see your message. It yanked me back to high school, to viscerally feeling how secretly enamored I was with you and remembering the conversations we used to have about our Greek families, high school, even math, with which I helped you a bit. Looking around the website a little more, I learned something else: you died in 2010. I felt a sort of emotional whiplash learning of your death only an hour or so after seeing your note and belatedly replying to it. Alas. ....

          Your saddened long-ago friend, John
