Alan S. Ball - Class Of 1957

Ball, Alan S. December 20, 2012. Age 73 years. Beloved husband for 43 years, of Nancy (nee Karbach). Preceded in death by brothers Thomas (Beverly), Ronald, Charles, and sister Patricia (Clifford). Brother of Daniel (Ellen). Further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends. An early interest in electrical motors led him to a successful 35 year career as an electrical engineer, including 18 years at Allen-Bradley. He earned his Bachelor of Science (EE) at UW-Milwaukee and Masters of Science (EE) at UW-Madison, achieving honors with his math abilities. He also was a Certified Professional Engineer. As Airman 1st Class of the United States Air Force Reserve, Alan's crew donated a C119 Flying Boxcar to India through military aid. That order included stops at the Azores, Paris, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Guam, and Hawaii. His interests included reading and travel. Alan's pleasant, gentle, and helpful manner was always evident and he will be missed by all who knew him. A sincere thank you to Dr. S.M. Shammo for a decade of excellent care. A Celebration of Alan's life will be held Thursday, December 27, at Schaff Funeral Home with funeral services at 11:00 AM. Visitation Thursday, December 27, at the funeral home 9:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Alan's name to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Societyappreciated.
