Mary Johnson (Meurer) - Class Of 1954

Meurer, Mary Lou Born to Eternal Life on Friday, November 9, 2012, age 76 years, after courageously battling pulmonary fibrosis. Beloved wife of Francis Meurer and mother of John (Linda) Meurer, Mary (Chris) Anderson, Anne (Pete) Cucinello, Kathleen (Thomas) Huevler, Jean (John) Talken, Nancy (Terry) Sullivan, Ken (Shirley) Meurer and Julie (Joe) Laur. Cherished grandma of Donald, Kendra, Jonathan, Katie, Allison, John, Luke, Tessa, Jennifer, Rebecca, Alyssa, Benjamin, Patrick, Riley, Nate and Ava. Further survived by siblings Tom (Marilyn) Johnson, Rose Szydel, Donna (Bernie) Reynolds, and Dorothy Johnson, as well as many family and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Francis, parents Elming and Louise Johnson, brother Elming Johnson Jr. and grandsons Benjamin and Riley Sullivan. Mary Lou graduated from Washington High School, attended Alverno College, and earned a Bachelor of Nursing degree. Service was always important to her, volunteering endless hours at her church and in the community. Mary Lou shared her faith with all. She selflessly gave of herself to family, friends and those in need. Her love and support was never-ending. Mary Lou inspired and influenced others by her positive spirit and love of life. As matriarch to her family, Mary Lou instilled values of faith, service, generosity, selflessness, courage, and wisdom to her children and grandchildren. They will carry on her legacy and live as she did in her honor and memory. Mary Lou's final selfless act was to donate her body to the Medical College of Wisconsin. Special thanks to Mary Lou's dedicated personal caregivers, hospice team and her primary physician for their love, care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Jesuit Retreat House or The Cathedral Center. Visitation at the Funeral Home on Friday, November 16 from 4-7PM with a Time of Remembrance at 7PM. Visitation Saturday, November 17 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 2750 N. 122nd St., Wauwatosa from 9:30-10:45AM followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00AM. Private interment.
