In Memory

Simon W Mui - Class Of 1990

Simon W. Mui, 梅 世 偉, was born on October 31, 1972 in Woonsocket, RI. As a young child, he was amazed by flags and everyone loved to play with him. He was a very honest child, which continued to adulthood.

He moved to Milwaukee at the age of eight and grew up here, attending 53rd Street School, Wilbur Wright Middle School, and Washington High School. There he met people who became lifelong friends, and some are even considered family.

Simon worked at Tri City National Bank, starting out as a teller and eventually being promoted to bank manager. He then moved on to Bank Mutual as a manager. He eventually worked at his family’s restaurant, Silver Dragon, doing everything and anything that needed to be done.

Simon suffered three strokes in 2013, 2015, and 2019. After each one, Simon tried his best to recover. Simon fought very hard to stay alive after his third devastating stroke because he didn’t want to disappoint his brother.

Simon loved his family and friends. Simon enjoyed eating, cooking, biking, driving, road trips, martial arts, science fiction (especially Star Trek), comic books (Green Lantern and Superman), toys (Transformers), The Wisconsin State Fair, using his iPhone, and just being with friends and family.

Simon was a great son, a wonderful brother, a loving uncle, and an incredibly caring and helpful friend.
