Jon Ryberg - Class Of 1975

Jon Ryberg

Cherry Valley, IL - Jon Ryberg, 64, Cherry Valley, IL, died Friday, May 13, 2022, of cancer in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Born September 10, 1957, son of Reverend Ralph and Margaret Ryberg. Jon enjoyed an idyllic 1960s childhood in Mt. Morris, Illinois and forever considered himself a "Mounder". He graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee and received a Bachelor's Degree from Carthage College. Jon owned ServiceMaster by Ryberg, 1995-2011. He was currently employed by ServiceMaster DSI where he is remembered as a consummate professional who always led by example.

Jon married Sally Truitt in Rockford on New Year's Eve, 2010. He was a strong supportive figure to his family, friends and co-workers. He was thoughtful, caring and always willing to lend a helping hand. When he saw a need, he stepped up to help and serve. Jon had a quiet demeanor, an infectious smile and a quick-witted sense of humor. He possessed a fierce work ethic and drive. Jon was passionate about golf and a lifelong Packer fan. He was looking forward to retirement this year, when he'd have more time to enjoy the things he loved—his family and an active role as Papa to his "girlies"; golfing as much as possible and frequent trips to Indian Rocks Beach in Florida.

Survivors include his wife Sally; children Robert, Kristin (Garrett Reese) and Jonny; stepson Matthew (Katie) Cecchinelli; granddaughters, Genevieve and Illa Cecchinelli; brother, Eric Ryberg, sister, Christine (Jim) Scotton; brother-in-law, John (Dawn) Truitt; sister-in-law, Kathy (Paul) Caccamo; nephews, Kyle Ryberg and Tony Scotton; niece, Amanda (Todd) Catlin and great nieces, Adeleine, Brinn and Ellie Catlin. Predeceased by his parents and sister, Karen.

There will be a time of Fellowship, Friday, June 24th, 9-10am, followed by a Memorial Service, 10-10:30am at Calvary Chapel Rockford, 7281 Olde Creek Rd., Rockford, IL 61114. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Chapel Rockford or to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The family was assisted by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory.
