Marcia L. Gutnick VIRGINIA BEACH - Marcia Lea Gutnick, 61, died Jan. 29, 2011. Mrs. Gutnick was born in Sheboygan, Wisc., the daughter of the late Benjamin and Jessie Hootkin. Marcia attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she received her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She was a guidance counselor for the Virginia Beach Public Schools for more than 16 years. She was a member of Temple Emanuel. Marcia is survived by her husband, Howard Gutnick of Virginia Beach; her son, Jay Gutnick of Rockville, Md.; her daughter, Andrea Baesen and her husband Alan of Norfolk; her brother, Stephen Hootkin and his wife Pamela of New York City. She was loved by all who knew her and gave back even more. She is remembered by "her kids," who she counseled and cared for. A funeral will be conducted Monday, Jan. 31, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel at 1 p.m. by Rabbi Howard Mandell. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Emanuel.
