David was one of the sweetest people that you could ever meet....he HATED having his picture taken, and I believe that he managed to miss every picture day at Washington. Years after his death, he still comes to mind, and always with a smile of the heart.
Marine LCPL David P. Quinlan was killed in battle - Republic of South Viet Nam on 7/29/1969, by small arms fire. My mother sent his obituary to me while I was serving in VN with the USAF the same year. His name appears on the Viet Nam War Memorial.
We lived only a few blocks from each other before HS graduation, and we ofter walked to school togerther in our senior year. I have carried the memory of this young man with me ever since I received word of his death.
David was not the type of person to draw attention to himself and he might easily have been overlooked in a room full of people, but I will forever keep his memory alive so long as I live. He gave his all.....
