Sheldon Bankier

I lived in Los Angeles for about 18 years and Colorado Springs for 2 years. I was married twice, each lasting about 10 years. I thoroughly enjoy being a grandfather of 4 teenagers. I began guitar lessons at 70 and have written about 25 songs, a few good ones including "Geezer Blues". I adopted a rescue dog, an Aussiedoodle (Australian Shepherd/Poodle) named Lola who is sweet and has a great smile.

I cherish the memories of being a part of the Scroll
staff and remain a newspaper and magazine junkie
although I do enjoy television and the internet.
I also remember French class with Mrs. Murphy and fellow classmate Heiner Giese. Whenever Heiner or I were assigned to write our homework
assignments on the blackboard, he or I would insert an incorrect accent mark or misspelled word.
Poor Mrs. Murphy never caught on and would inevitably comment on how shocked she was that
excellent students like us could make such obvious errors. Needless to say, everyone of our fellow classmates observed our calculated misdeeds and
still laughed unmercifully behind her back as Mrs.
Murphy stared at the blackboard.
