Mrs. Marge Jones, of Mequon, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, WI. She was 76 years old. Marge was born September 21, 1937 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Arthur and Cecilia Liesch Scharping. On December 22, 1956 she was united in marriage with Greg Jones at Perseverance Presbyterian Church in Milwaukee, WI. Marge had belonged to Brookfield Assembly of God in Brookfield, WI and Portview Church in Port Washington, WI, where she had served as a librarian, and Northshore Assembly of God in Mequon, WI. Marge was an active and dedicated member of the parishes she belonged to, and was involved with Royal Rangers, Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, Milwaukee Outreach Center, Operation Blessing, Women Aglow, PTA and a women's quilting group at Portview Church. She was a world traveler who enjoyed card making, quilting, reading mystery novels, crocheting and reading her Bible. Marge will be remembered as a "mom," "grandma" and friend to many. Marge is survived by her husband Greg and their children: Greg II (Debi) of Nashville, TN and Pamela Jones of Milwaukee, WI. She is further survived by her granddaughter Erin (Paul) Doty of Glendale, WI, brother Jim (Carolynn) Scharping of Madison, WI, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her sister Elaine Fritz. A Memorial Service will be held at 3PM on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., in Port Washington, WI. Pastor Lisa Larson will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 1-3PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Fine Arts Program at Northshore Assembly in Mequon, WI. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, WI is honored to be serving the family.
