A faithful Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan, who also did his part in supporting Milwaukee's great breweries, Marv was born on a snow-stormy day in December. He overcame polio in childhood to become an accomplished Milwaukee Journal paperboy and a high school thespian. After earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin, he went on to a career that included 9 years in the Netherlands overseeing a multi-national joint venture to bring natural gas from the North Sea. He later became the vice president of manufacturing for subsidiaries of Textron in Easton, PA, and Greenville, SC.
After retiring, he and his wife, Elly, spent a year in Bratislava, Slovakia, where Marv worked for USAID, helping to bring the country's manufacturing system up to date. Real retirement followed with many rounds of golf at the Champion Hills Club, where he was at various times Club and POA President. He found enjoyment skiing, hiking, and exploring in the U.S. and foreign countries, especially rafting in the cold climates of northern Canada.
His family will always love him for the man he was, his enthusiasm to live life to the fullest, and his vision for great adventures that we all experienced along the way.
He is survived by Elly, his wife of 60 years; three children: Tracey Kasper (Michael Crockett), Eric Truebenbach (Elizabeth), and Kristy Lund (Scott); and two granddaughters, Alexandra and Katrina Truebenbach.
