Dolores Chudobba (Lorenz) - Class Of 1951 VIEW PROFILE

Dolores Joyce Lorenz, of Elm Grove, Wisconsin, joined her son Frank in heaven June 25, 2022. Dolores, a.k.a Nonnie was born September 28, 1933 to Richard and Viola Chudobba. Dolores is survived by her husband Frank Lorenz, her son Aron Lorenz (Nancy) of Sylvan Lake, Michigan, daughter Lisa Capper (John) of Brookfield, WI. Beloved grand daughters Elizabeth Capper (Brittany), Madison Lorenz and Catherine Capper, her sister Fern Pavek and nephews Steven Pavek of West Allis and Dr. Dale Pavik (Kathy) of Colorado Springs, CO. She also leaves behind her beloved dog Winston. At the age of 16 she lost her father and began her future life. After graduating in 1955 from Washington High School she became a switch board operator at the Milwaukee Public Library. Her supervisor convinced her she was a born teacher and that she should enroll in a program at UWM. It took Dolores 12 years to finally get her teaching degree. In 1954 on a blind date she met her husband Frank at UWM. They married in 1957 and had 3 children. Dolores was a stay at home mom until her children were ready for college. She worked for 16 years as a Title I teacher in the New Berlin School District. She bought many winter coats for needy children. After retirement Dolores traveled the world with her husband on his business trips. One of her favorite places was Singapore. She called the school board and was able to tour one of the schools to learn about Singapore math. Dolores supported many charities. One of her proudest accomplishments was the raising of 10,000 children’s books for the Salvation Army Christmas baskets. Up until Covid Dolores was a volunteer teacher at St. John Vianney in the first and second grade. Dolores was a longtime member of the Elm Grove Women’s Club, Elmbrook Historical Society and North Hill’s Country Club. A memorial mass will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at St.John Vianney, Brookfield, WI at 11:00 AM. Family visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM. We will miss our Nonnie. She will always be in our thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers please send memorials to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or the Elm Brook Humane Society.
