Delores J. Rohr
"The Queen Mother"
(Nee Hoff)

Delores was born to Eternal Life on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the age of 87 years. Beloved wife of the late Delbert. Cherished and adored mother of Christine (the late Louis Jr.) Caponigro. Proud Aunt of Richard S. (Carolyn) Larkin and Dean (Marian) Larkin. Dear great-aunt of Kathleen (Greg) Larson, Charlotte Larkin, John Larkin, and Matthew Larkin. Preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Louise Hoff and sister, Beverly (the late Richard) Larkin. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Delores graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison, where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. It was her intention to teach secondary education; however, life had other things in store. Delores worked for 33 years in the family business, Hoff’s Interiors, where her innate, impeccable eye for style was showcased in every single home which she had the joy to decorate. Working side by side with her father and mother, Delores loved the camaraderie of the family business and meeting a wide variety of people through her clients and many subcontractors.

When the time came to close the family business, Delores embarked on the second half of her 63 year work life, at Larkin Appraisals, working for her brother in law, the late Richard P Larkin and later her nephew Rick Larkin. Delores worked full time until she was 85 years old and loved every minute of her time interacting with the appraisers, clients and countless municipal assessors.

Delores adored working in the gardens at her Brookfield home of 40 years and then, over the past two years at her new home in the Town of Brookfield, which she shared with her daughter Christine and the late Lou Caponigro. Christine and Delores spent many hours in the summer together pruning plants and planning future gardens. Every moment was a treasure spent together, which will forever be preserved and celebrated in the flowering of each spring bulb and every rose that blooms in the summer...

Deep appreciation is extended by the family to the amazing staff at Seasons Hospice, especially Julie Dlouhy, the Rockstar of all hospice nurses, for her marvelous care of Delores. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful, caring staff at the Visiting Angels for their compassionate 24/7 nursing care, which allowed Delores to spend her last weeks in the comfort of her own little bedroom, which she so loved. The deepest of gratitude to Sue Cobb of the Ascension Performance Center for her care, friendship and kindness to Delores and Christine over the past several years.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 21, at ST. JOHN VIANNEY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1755 N. Calhoun Rd., Brookfield, from 9:30 - 11:15 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM. Interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Delores's name to The Padre Pio Foundation of America, 463 Main St., Cromwell, CT 06416 (www.padrepio.com) would be appreciated.
