Mary Joan Dally

May 1, 1927 - June 21, 2020

Entered into Eternal Life on Sunday, June 21, 2020, at the age of 93 years, surrounded by her family at Columbia St. Mary Hospital. The first child of Lawrence and Marie Hetzel, Mary Joan was blessed to have two great loves in her life. Her first husband, William J. O'Connell, preceded her in death in 1954. Her husband, Donald R. Dally, passed away in 2003. She was the dear mother of Michael Dally (Katie Keegan), Maureen Dally, and Dr. John Dally, D.V.M. (Dr. Ann Vetter, D.V.M.). She was the proud grandmother of Morgan Dally Schueler (Chad Schueler), Caitlin Dally Mason (Steve Mason), Alain Consigny (Emily Raasch), and Aiden, Declan and Cian Dally. Her granddaughter, Chloe Consigny, sadly pre-deceased her.

Mary Joan was also thrilled to be the great-grandmother of Halston and James Schueler, Isaac and Finnigan Mason, and Kole Consigny.

She was the dear sister of Kathleen Blackburn (John) and the late Rosemary Hetzel, as well as the dear sister of Howard Hetzel (Eileen).

She is further survived by many devoted nieces and nephews--who lovingly called her "Auntie Joan"--as well as other relatives and friends.

Among her many interests, Mary Joan loved to sing in chorale, church choirs and with family, enthralling her listeners with her spectacular soprano voice.

She enjoyed traveling, cross-country skiing, swimming, playing bridge, and following the Brewers and Packers. She loved all of her children, nieces and nephews. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spending as much play-filled time with them as possible.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020, from 12:00 Noon until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 PM, at MOTHER OF GOOD COUNSEL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 6924 W. Lisbon Avenue, Milwaukee,WI 53210. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to "Milwaukee Catholic Home--Pastoral Care fund" or "Sisters of Divine Savior--General Provincial fund" appreciated.

The Dally family wishes to express their profound thanks for the care and support Mary Joan received as a resident from the staff at Milwaukee Catholic Home, and also for the care and professionalism extended her by the medical and nursing staff at Columbia St. Mary Hospital E.R.
