Schoenfeld, John Age 92, of Elk Grove, CA, formerly Milwaukee, WI, went to God's arms on August 27, 2016. Beloved husband of Lyn (nee Resler). Proud father of Judy (Steve) Shelley, Janet (Dean) Derfus, and Joy (Myron) Burns. Proud grandfather of Jazzie, D.J., Cassie, and Jada. Further survived by his nephew and nieces Tom, Kathy, Nancy and Betsy, along with grand nephews and nieces. John was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elisabeth Schoenfeld, brother Henry (Mary) Schoenfeld, and sister Betty Schoenfeld. John was a devoted church member and was a founding member of Walther Memorial Lutheran Church of Milwaukee, WI. John was an avid career photographer and was a long time member of the Professional Photographers Association of America, and was proud of his many ribbons and awards. John was a member of the Lutheran Human Rights Association and a forerunner of civil rights and social issues and was a participant in many events that led to equality for all. Visitation at the Funeral Home Tuesday, September 6, 2016, 11 AM-1 PM. Funeral services following at 1 PM. Private interment Arlington Park Cemetery. Special thank you to the Camden Springs, Windsor of Elk Grove, and Sutter of Elk Grove in California for their support and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation and Concordia University.
