Nancy Davis (Pyeatt) - Class Of 1948 VIEW PROFILE

Nancy K. Pyeatt
September 9, 1930 - February 6, 2021

Nancy Katherine Pyeatt passed away peacefully February 6, 2021 after a brief illness. Born in 1930 to Roy and Mae Davis in Milwaukee, WI, she attended Washington High School and went on to attend UW Milwaukee where she earned an Associate’s Degree. In 1954 she moved to California where she met a Navy Lieutenant named John Samuel Pyeatt (Jack). They married on April 27, 1957. Nancy and Jack lived in Long Beach, California and Springfield, Massachusetts before permanently settling in Menomonee Falls. Nancy had a list of life-long friendships that stood the test of time: Betsy, Marie, Jim, and Kay, to name just a few. Additionally she made many new friends in her retirement community: Kathleen, Fritz, Mary, Walt, Mary Ann and others.

She enjoyed the monthly get-togethers with her elementary school mates, the Bridge games with her auxiliary friends, and her drama club friends at Dickson Hollow. Nancy lived her life in service to others. She worked with the USO, was a Brownie Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, Sunday school teacher, and volunteered for every field trip. She delivered Meals-on-Wheels and gave decades of service to the Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary running the gift shop. More than anything, Nancy loved her family. She was proud of her children and grandchildren and never missed a sporting event, or musical performance. At home, she enjoyed boating, sitting on the deck at their house in Door County marveling at the sunset, or just watching her kids and their friends swim in the backyard pool. She loved exploring the world with her family too. Some of her favorite adventures included: whitewater rafting in Costa Rica, riding camels in Egypt, castle hopping in England, and sightseeing throughout most of Europe.

Nancy’s children find joy and comfort that their Dad finally has his best friend back at his side. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Mae, by her husband Jack and by her sister Carol. Nancy is survived by her children, John Pyeatt (Betsey Davis) and Katherine Pyeatt (Dan Kerkman), and her grandchildren Sam, Gwen and Emma.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at Living Hope Presbyterian Church (W156 N4881 Pilgrim Rd., Menomonee Falls, WI) on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 11AM.
