Ruth Strobel (Wierdsma) - Class Of 1942 VIEW PROFILE

Ruth "Rudy" C. Wierdsma, 81, passed away on November 15, 2005, born in Milwaukee, WI on December 17, 1923, daughter of the late Dr. Thomas and Lydia Strobel. She lived in Oconomowoc, WI for 56 years with her husband, Robert, while maintaining a second residence in Naples for many years. They became permanent residents of Naples in 1991 and are active members of the Moorings Country Club.

She is survived by her husband and best friend of 59 years, Robert. Also, her loving daughter Barbara Christenson, and sons Thomas (Ann) and Robb (Cheryl). Ruth was the proud grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of five.

She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Her degree in home economics helped her to become a world-class homemaker and mother. Her interest in singing at an early age led her to sing at weddings and other occasions and to direct the Methodist Church choir in Oconomowoc for many years. Until her health started failing the last few years, she was an avid tennis player and golfer. She touched many lives and Ruth will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held in Naples, FL. Entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Milwaukee, WI. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made the Moorings Presbyterian Church of Naples, 791 Harbour Drive, Naples, FL 34103 or Hospice of Naples, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples FL 34105.
