Douglas A Gallus - Class Of 1960 VIEW PROFILE

Douglas Allan Gallus

Son of the late Harold and Doris Gallus of Oconomowoc, born on June 21, 1942 passed away January 14, 2021 at age 78. He was a 1960 graduate of Washington High School and a 1970 graduate of the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He owned Gallus Architects for over forty years. He founded the Wisconsin chapter of the Association of Licensed Architects in 2009 and served as its President for over ten years. He also belonged to many other architect and building associations. He was a longtime member of the Lord of Life Church in Oconomowoc and was the architect for building the Church. Doug was a member of the Vagabond Ski and Social Club since January 1974, led many ski trips throughout the years, and served as the Club's President from 1991/92. Doug was a licensed U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine captain. He loved sailing his boat "The Mouseketeer" and was a member of the South Shore Yacht Club for many years. His friend and eternal companion was Mickey Mouse, and he had an extensive collection of Mickey Mouse items. "When you wish upon a star--your dreams come true.
