Ralph George Oberleitner, 65, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at his home in Wausaukee, following a lengthy battle from numerous strokes.

Born on Jan. 19, 1944 to the late George and Evelyn (Sawyer) Oberleitner, he graduated from Washington High School in 1962. 

He also attended MIT Tech and worked at Harley Davidson and AO Smith as an inspector, then for E.R. Wagner, also as an inspector. He married Patricia Leona Nutt in 1964, in Menominee, Mi. and they lived in the Milwaukee area until 1977, when they brought their five children to Wausaukee where they still reside.

He is survived by his wife, Leona of 44 years, along with their five children, Scott (Sheri Caelwaerts) of Wabeno, Tracy of Wausaukee, Shawn (Bernadine Huss) of Peshtigo, Margo (Steve) Renikow of McAllister and Jason (Denise Vranny) of Wausaukee; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Hubbard of Athelstane; a brother-in-law, George (Karen Anderson) Vertz; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a sister in-law, Sherry Vertz. 

Visitation was held at First Presbyterian Church, Wausaukee on Tuesday, July 28 from 3 p.m. until time of the funeral services at 6 p.m. Pastor Lin Wittmann officiated. Messar Funeral Home, Wausaukee assisted the family with arrangements.
