Wetzel, Charles H. "Chuck" Passed away late Saturday, March 30, 2013, at San Camillo Retirement Community at the age of 91 years. Prior to moving to San Camillo in 1999 he had lived with his family in Shorewood, Fox Point, Whitefish Bay, and Glendale. Charles H. Wetzel "Chuck" was born in Milwaukee on November 1, 1921, to Harry and Gertrude (nee Lehrkind) Wetzel. In 1939 Chuck graduated from Washington High School. He was a 1943 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. On March 15, 1944 Chuck married Leota (Lowty) Streeter. They were blessed with two daughters, Claudine and Amy. During World War II he was a proud officer in the Army Air Corps primarily in the Western Pacific Theater. After the war he began a long career in the private business sector, including being a co-owner of Super Tool and Manufacturing for 10 years. After Lowty passed away in 1980, Chuck sought a career change. He began a second career teaching Business Education courses at MATC for 16 years. In 1986 Chuck married Shirley W. Fairweather and inherited a second family. Throughout his life he was a family-centered man who enjoyed his traveling extensively with his wives and daughters. He was a long time member of the United Methodist Church of Whitefish Bay. He also was a life-long member of the American Legion. During his 14 years at San Camillo Chuck enjoyed being actively involved especially as the treasurer of the Resident Advisory Council. He is survived by daughters Claudine (Jim) Happel of Appleton and Amy (Terry) Coughlin of Saukville and Shirley's family. He was preceded in death by his wives, Leota S. Wetzel and Shirley W. Fairweather and Lowty's sister and husband, Melvada and George Burns. Funeral services for Chuck will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 12, 2013, at the funeral home. Friends will be received at 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Private internment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, feel free to honor Chuck's memory with a memorial to United Methodist Church of Whitefish Bay, the San Camillo Foundation, or a charity of your choice .
