Coach was a mentor to many of us, showing us the value of inner strength accompanied by a gentle and caring demeanor. His humor sparkled in any situation, and he embraced life with a joy that was infectious. He died in May, 2010, but lives on in our hearts.
Was very sad to hear of his passing. Talked to him ,July,2001, at coach Ahl's funeral.Was in his 80s then. very same man who in his 40s helped me with my great love of High School years , track.Never forget he ran down those hallways with us, and at 40 that was more than admirable. heard in later years from my track buddy Chris Mihas that Leo was a very brave soldier,as was coach Ahl.
We were in the opresence of heroes for all those years and never knew it.
