Obituary for Caroline J. Mitchell

Caroline Janet Mitchell, of Random Lake, WI, passed away at her residence on November 6, 2016. She was 70 years old.
Carol was born July 25, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI to the daughter of Joseph A. Sorgent & Caroline A. (Deziel) Sorgent.
She attended St. Anne’s grade school, Peckham Jr. High, and graduated from Washington High School in 1965 all in Milwaukee, WI.
Carol was united in marriage with William C. Mitchell on January 18, 1966 in Iron Mountain, MI. She travelled the world with Bill, who was in the Air Force. They were stationed in Montana, California, Okinawa, Michigan, Illinois, and England.
Three children were born to Bill and Carol: William C. Mitchell Jr., born in Montana, Victoria born in California, and Charles born in Michigan. After leaving the Air Force, they settled in Random Lake, WI, with the help of Howard and LaVerne Wilke.

After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and children. She said, “I gave 23 years to Pizza Hut, now it's family time.”
While in Michigan, Carol was president of the FMS wives club, a support group, for the men working on the jet engines. In England, she took on a Girl Scout group for the base of RAF Upper Heyford. The American Girl Scouts became a sister troop for the Girl Guides of Bicester, England.
One of her passions was genealogy, which her father had asked her to do for him. This was in the early eighties. She perused it for the rest of her life.
Carol and Bill rode their Harley over much of Wisconsin. On Sundays, you would always find them out riding. Reluctant at first Carol found out she loved it. They attended many rallies, Sturgis, and traveled around South Dakota.
She loved the Little House on the Prairie series and visited the homestead of Charles and Caroline Ingalls in South Dakota.
