Richard W. Schiek

April 13, 1947 - December 18, 2017

Died on December 18, 2017 at the age of 70. He was the son of William Amos and Helen Louise Schiek (nee Walenta).  He was an electrical engineer and a pilot. He worked on CIA photo-reconnaissance satellites and computers used in military aircraft. He then helped to design and build commercial communications satellites and government weather and GPS WAAS satellites and he helped to invent a new way of transmitting commands into satellites that was granted a U.S. patent.

Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 10:00 AM until time of Service at 11:00 AM. Interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
