Diane Yampol Schroeder

Diane Schroeder died peacefully at her home on January 1, 2019.  Diane was born on March 11, 1934 to her late parents, Joseph and Cecelia (Isaacman) Yampol.  She is survived by her loving husband, James Schroeder, of Brookfield, WI.  She is also survived by her sister, JoAnn (John) Rohyans and her nieces Kristin (Steven) Andersson in Columbus, Ohio, Kerry (Pete) Luke in Erie, Colorado, Katherine (Jon) Overdevest of New York City, and her nephew, Kevin (Carrie) Rohyans of Columbus, Ohio.  Her four great nieces (Hanna Andersson, Elisabeth Andersson, Maya Luke and Charlotte Overdevest) and three great nephews (Kevin Dylan Rohyans, Joseph Peter Luke and Jack Overdevest) brought her great joy.

Diane and Jim traveled extensively in Europe and consider Alexandra Burgis and her daughter, Katerina, as “adopted” relatives in Bamberg, Germany.  Diane was a voracious reader and student obtaining her Bachelors Degree from Milwaukee Downer College, and two Masters Degrees, one in English Literature from Northwestern University and the other in Business Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM).  She was employed at the Milwaukee Jewish Day School and after receiving her Masters in Business Finance at Northwestern National Life Insurance Company.  Prior to her most recent illness she was taking classes at UWM working toward a Masters in Philosophy.  Diane enjoyed snow skiing and sailing with her husband, Jim, and sailing her own Soling in Lake Michigan.  

Diane’s family also extends much love and admiration to her caregiver, Julie Harty, who devoted the past year not only as an aide but also as a true companion to her
