Special thanks to Dr. George Lange and Dr. Kurt Oesterling and their staffs for their compassion and care shown to Dick and his family.

Doc grew up in Milwaukee and attended Washington High School where he graduated in 1952.  From there he completed his Journeyman’s certificate in Carpentry and served in the US Army in Germany as a medic.  He was married to Shirley in 1956 after which he attended and graduated from Marquette Dental School in 1963.  For many years, Doc operated Family Dentistry, his private dental practice located at North 76th St. and Keefe in Milwaukee.  It was here that he passionately served generations of families and treated all of his patients as a genuine part of his extended family.  He retired in September of 2013 after 50 years of practice.

Doc served his church in many different capacities including the Endowment Fund, Church Council, teaching Sunday School to the High Schoolers and leading/coordinating the youth group with his wife, Shirley.  He enjoyed the outdoors, canoeing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and riding horses.  The most important thing in his life was his family and he along with Shirley so adored their grandchildren and took great pride in watching them grow up.  His presence in so many ways will certainly be missed.
