Barbara A. Hartinger

April 12, 1931 - October 13, 2016

(Nee Hurd) Passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and children on October 13, 2016 at the age of 85. Loving wife of Bert for 59 years. Beloved mother of John C. Hartinger and Ann M. Graf. Proud grandmother of Laura, Samuel, Sarah, and Gilbert Graf. Sister of Mary Lynn J. Kellett. Preceded in death by her brother, William P. Hurd. Also loved by other relatives and friends.

Visitation at Luther Manor Faith & Education Building,  4545 North 92nd Street, on Friday, October 21, 2016, from 10:00-11:00 AM. Service at 11:00 AM. Private burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Barbara graduated from Washington High School and then Milwaukee State Teachers’ College, majoring in Art. She then earned her Master’s Degree in Library Science from UW Madison. Barbara had a long career as a librarian with the Milwaukee Public Library. Throughout her life she loved art, fashion, and nature. She was a longtime member of Mount Carmel Lutheran Church.
