She married Arthur Alpert in 1953, and lived in Sheboygan since,
Sonyamae was an member of Beth El synagogue in Sheboygan, worked along side her husband and in-laws at Alpert's Food Market on Indiana Avenue in Sheboygan. She had two children, Susan in 1954 and Richard born in 1956. After Arthur passed away in 1988 she became the care taker of her mother-in-law Sophie Alpert and Sophie's sister Lee Gollman. 
She had a loving personality that was appreciated by all who came in contact with her.
