Richard Straka - Class Of 1945

 

Straka, Richard Brechlin, Sr. "Dick" August 6, 2012, age 85 years. Beloved husband for 63 years, to Vivian J. (nee Moersfelder). Dear father of Richard, Jr. (Margaret) Straka, and Lisa Straka. Grandfather of Christine (Kelly) Shaw, Erika Straka, Olivia Cyr and Vincent Balistreri-Straka. Great - grandfather of Cheyanne, Kristian and Kaiden. Brother-in-law of Thomas (Alice) Muellner. Also survived by other relatives and friends. Private services were held. Interment Valhalla. Richard was a 1945 graduate of Washington High School, U.S. Navy veteran, graduate of Marquette University with degrees in electrical and mechanical engineering. Richard was active in Tau Beta Pi, Pi Mu Epsilon and Sigma Phi Delta fraternities. He had a brilliant mind and enjoyed his entire working career in the brewing industry with Pabst and Miller. Richard built a lake home for the family and enjoyed every minute he spent there. Richard loved playing clarinet with "New Horizons" Band for years. He was a member of St. Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church, Wauwatosa. Memorials to Elmbrook Humane Society, the Milwaukee Rescue Mission or Northwoods Wildlife Center, Minocqua, WI, appreciated. "He instilled many virtues in his family so he will live forever in our hearts."
