Dorothy Stingl (Dreyer) - Class Of 1943 VIEW PROFILE

Dreyer, Dorothy F. (Nee Stingl). Passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the age of 94. She now joins her best friend and husband, Walter Dreyer. She was a loving mother to Bruce Dreyer (Kathleen) of Oak Creek, WI., and Mark Dreyer (Linda Coyle) of Bonita Springs, FL. Also survived by her five grandchildren: Catherine Dreyer (Eoin Banahan) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Patrick Dreyer (Michelle) of Miami, FL; Julia Dreyer of Washington DC; Rebecca Bingham (Samuel) of Wauwatosa, WI and Amanda Dreyer of Milwaukee, WI. Dorothy was raised in Milwaukee by her parents, Lillian (nee Prinz) and Edward Stingl. Her sole sibling, Edward, tragically passed away at age 21. Dorothy met her husband, Wally, at Washington High School in Milwaukee. After Wally finished serving in the Marines in 1945, they were married, and moved to Madison, WI where Wally was captain of the UW football team. She later traveled with her husband when he played for the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers. Dorothy remained an avid football fan and was loyal to her Packers and Badgers Although she was not able to attend college because of her work to support her husband, she was well read and encouraged and supported her two sons and five grandchildren to attend college. She was an avid reader and was fascinated by nature. She also loved gardening, cooking, ballroom dancing, wine making, perch fishing, and being up north.
