Roy retired from Rexnord in 1981 after being employed there for 40 years.  He was a member of the Rexnord Retiree Club and the Quarter Century Club.  He had served in the Army Air Force as Radar Navigator in World War II, participating in 25 missions and retired from the Reserves as Lt. Colonel.  He was a member of the 2nd Air Division of the 8th Air Force and of he Air Force Association.  He was a member of the Spring Hill United Church of Christ.  Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth (Coon), a former teacher in the Whitnall Area School District; a son, Michael R; two daughters: Mary E (Greg) Benes, Waukesha and Ellen J Devlin, Wauwatosa and five grandchildren: Katherine (Brian Huxtable) Devlin, Glendale; Christine Benes (David Long), Waukesha; Jennifer Devlin, Colorado Springs; Jeffrey and Andrew Benes, Waukesha.  His only sister, Florence (Eugene) Ludwig, preceded him in death.  from death notice in Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, March 2, 1997.
